Since 2000 DBS has helped some of New Zealand’s best known corporations to improve their business performance. Below is a selection of our web development customers and what we have done for them.

Tourism New Zealand Corporate Services Portal

Tourism New Zealand is the Government Tourism Organisation which markets New Zealand as a visitor destination offshore. As well as developing the "100% Pure NZ" Global Brand Campaign, Tourism New Zealand works with a number of regional industry partners to execute promotional campaigns in its target markets throughout the world.

The Tourism New Zealand Corporate Services portal is used by the worldwide marketing and operations teams to manage budgets, forecasts and campaign finances. It integrates dynamically with their SAP Finance and Project Administration system.

Staff are no longer required to log in to SAP to carry out administrative tasks and use the Portal for all their financial transactions, from expense claims to supplier invoice processing. The portal has significantly reduced the cost of training and supporting users in the field, has facilitated global teamwork and improved the accuracy and timeliness of management information. Recently Tourism New Zealand successfully replaced SAP Release Strategies with a DBS Workflow system for managing expenditure approvals which better meets their audit and control requirements, while being more user-friendly to operate and maintain.

"DBS' professionalism and innovation have resulted in a solution that has far and away exceeded our initial expectations."

(Keith Thomas, General Manager Corporate Services, Tourism New Zealand)

This site was developed by DBS, using a graphical design by netconcepts.

"The relationship with DBS has been professionally extremely rewarding. The initial task was as a matter of some urgency to move us off an old system and establish a new customer friendly interface for content management. The capability, dedication and professionalism of DBS was incredible, the timelines achieved I think even amazed DBS and the outcome has delivered us a market leading capability, a platform we continue to develop in partnership with DBS."

(Alistair Helm, Chief Executive, Realestate.co.nz)

The Tourism New Zealand Image Library provides the International Media with self-service access to Tourism New Zealand's scenic and cultural image stocks. Users can collect images into projects, which are then approved for their intended use by Tourism NZ staff, using a workflow process.

Behind the scenes, the library administrators log in to a private portal to maintain the catalogue, control the release of images and report on usage.

The library was enhanced in 2006 to support foreign languages with workflows for managing the translation of image descriptions as stock is renewed. The site was developed by DBS based on graphic designs from Shift New Zealand.

The portal features data loaded daily from the ANZES SAP system via the DBS B2B Exchange, using the highly secure PGP encryption format. The security features of the DBS Portal are also used to ensure that customers only view the reports and data pertinent to their own equipment.

Cadbury Exchange

The Cadbury Exchange automates the processing of orders from Cadbury's supermarket customers. It receives orders from the Foodstuffs Exchange via XML over HTTP, loads them into Cadbury's SAP Sales and Distribution system, and sends back advanced shipping notices and invoices.

The exchange has recently been extended to allow Stock Transfer Orders and Deliveries to be communicated to Cadbury’s distribution partner, Mainfreight.

"We chose DBS because as well as having the experience, we felt that there would be a very high level of commitment and service. And we weren't disappointed - DBS really came through for us."

The target market of sophisticated internet users can negotiate the simple self-registration and online payment screens with ease.

The site features an upload facility for lecturers to submit preferred course texts and provides students with a search engine to locate their required reading. Book titles and prices are loaded from the Whitcoulls SAP logistics system with the help of the DBS B2B Exchange.

"The orders are flowing in and our staff are happily processing and shipping. Interestingly, we met with them last week and they were lost because the process was so simple. They were trying to find the complications and took a while to realise there weren't any!"
